Jeff Bush, The Washington Update
A dynamic and insightful speaker and author, Jeff Bush is known for his unique ability to translate difficult and confusing information coming out of Washington, D.C. into winning growth strategies for business owners, executives and investors. Jeff is the principal of the Washington Update, the industry’s nonpartisan expert on all things Washington.

Neen James, Executive Strategist & Coach

Libet Anderson, President, Concourse Financial Group Securities
Elizabeth “Libet” Anderson joined Concourse Financial Group Securities in 2016 to serve as Vice President and Managing Director of Advisory and Planning. She is now President, Wealth Management.

She has over 30 years of financial services experience. Previously, she was a Director at Edward Jones, where she led the rollout of the firm’s first advisor-directed, fee-based solution. Before that, she served as Chief Executive Officer of Sterne Agee Asset Management, leading the firm’s marketing and sales functions, while also focusing on growing its wealth management platform. Early in her career, Ms. Anderson served as an advisor with Merrill Lynch before assuming the role of Regional Vice President with both AmSouth Investment Services and Pioneer Investments.

Dale Brown, President & CEO, Financial Services Institute
Dale E. Brown, CAE, is the founding president and CEO of the Financial Services Institute (FSI). Dale brings more than 30 years of association management experience with broad leadership in government relations and constituent advocacy. He leads FSI’s advocacy strategy, interacting frequently with regulators and policymakers in Washington, D.C.

Prior to joining FSI at its launch, Dale guided the government relations, corporate and broker-dealer programs for the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP). For nine consecutive years, Dale was named one of ThinkAdvisor’s 25 most influential individuals in and around the planning profession.

Christine Byrne, Partner & Wealth Advisor, Back Cove Financial
Christine Byrne is Finance Chair of FSI’s Board of Directors, as well as Partner & Wealth Advisor for Back Cove Financial. Christine brings over 25 years of experience in financial services to her clients.

She began her career in the home office of Commonwealth Financial Network, giving her work an operational perspective and a fiercely independent edge. While there, one of her roles was Director of Commonwealth’s Service Center, where she and her team supported Commonwealth’s growing field of advisors. In 2000, Christine moved to Maine and started her own practice, using the same spirit of independence she enjoyed while at Commonwealth. She is the founder of Back Cove Financial, which focuses on planning and investment management for families and individuals. Having spent her entire career affiliated with Commonwealth Financial Network, Christine has always been an advocate for and practitioner of the independent financial advisor and channel.

Mary Beth Hofmeister, Financial Advisor and Branch Manager
Mary Beth has worked over 20 years to grow a financial services practice centered on offering clients cohesive planning, products and services tailored to their unique needs and circ*mstances. She began her career in the field of employee benefits for large regional and national employers, working in Chicago, Boston and the Capital District of New York. When encouraged by her own financial advisor to bring her experience to financial advising, Mary Beth embraced an opportunity to start her own financial services practice. After several years with an insurance-based organization, she pursued practice as an independent advisor and her certification as a Certified Financial Planner. In 2016, Mary Beth formed Sage Financial Associates based in Albany, NY, and is honored to serve as Branch Manager for the affiliated group of advisors.

Stephen Langlois, President, Kestra Financial
Stephen drives Kestra’s revenue growth, executes and expands the company’s existing growth strategy, and furthers the evolution of Kestra Financial’s value proposition to Empower Advisor Success.

Stephen has a deep and singular focus on delivering technology and wealth management platform innovations and enhancing practice management solutions for independent financial professionals.

Prior to joining Kestra Financial, Stephen held senior positions at leading wealth management firms, including eMoney Advisor, Fidelity Investments, and LPL Financial.

Adam Malamed, CEO, Sanctuary Wealth
Adam is responsible for shaping the strategic direction of Sanctuary Wealth, ensuring continued growth and success by developing and directing the execution of strategic long-term goals, business expansion plans, and market positioning. He oversees the financial health of the organization, promotes adherence to regulations and compliance standards, and maintains the firm’s position at the forefront of technology.

A seasoned executive, entrepreneur, private investor, board director, and senior industry advisor, Adam has more than 26 years of experience in financial services. Prior to Sanctuary, he served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services Inc. Previously, he served as President and Co-Founder of BroadWall Capital, and he began his career as a financial advisor for GBI Capital in 1994, and then served as a managing director for the firm’s private client services division.

Mary Steele, Managing Partner, Freehold Wealth Management
Growing up with parents who are both financial advisors, Mary was exposed to the financial world at an early age. She initially pursued a career as an educator, but was ultimately drawn to the idea of using her teaching background to help make investing – a foreign and confusing concept for many people – relatable and understandable.

In 2014, Mary joined her parents’ practice. It turned out to be the perfect fit. After six months, both she and her parents knew that there was so much potential for growth, and Freehold Wealth Management has organically evolved from there.

Registration Policies

The Advancing Women in Leadership Workshop is open only to registered conference participants. There is an additional fee of $125 for FSI members to attend the workshop.

The conference registration fee includes both FSI Forum and Capitol Hill Day. You may not register for a single day.

FSI board and council members are eligible for discounted (or, in certain circ*mstances, complimentary) registration, as are speakers who are FSI firm or financial advisor members. Please check your inbox for details.

Eligibility Policy
This event is open to independent financial advisors and to home office employees of retail broker-dealer and RIA firms meeting the qualification criteria for FSI Firm Membership. Employees of FSI Sponsors may also attend (subject to limitations described in the FSI Sponsor Guide).

Substitution and Cancellation Policy
A transfer of your full registration is permitted prior to the conference by submitting a written request to [emailprotected]. Onsite transfers must be accompanied with proof of the original confirmation letter. Only one transfer is permitted per original registrant. The individual submitting the transfer request is responsible for all financial obligations (any balance due) associated with that substitution. Badge sharing, splitting and reprints are strictly prohibited.

Cancellation Policy
Full refunds are available through July 31, 2024. Any cancellations received after July 31 and by September 1, 2024, will receive a refund of the full conference fee minus a $200 administrative fee. To receive a refund, a cancellation must be received by the stated cancellation deadline and submitted in writing to [emailprotected]. No refunds will be granted for requests received after September 1. The Financial Services Institute (FSI) regrets that refunds will not be given for no-shows.

Consent to Use of Photographic Images
Registration for or participation in FSI meetings and other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant/attendee to the use and distribution of the individual’s image and/or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions and audiotapes of such events and activities by FSI and other third parties.

Confirmation
If you register online, you will immediately receive an electronic confirmation of your registration from [emailprotected]. If you do not receive a confirmation, please check the “Junk” or “Spam” folders of your email and then contact [emailprotected].

What is the Event Cancellation Policy?
FSI reserves the right to cancel an event due to any circ*mstances that in FSI’s sole judgement make the event non-viable. If FSI cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund. Should circ*mstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, FSI has the right to either issue full refunds or transfer registrations to the same event at the new future date. Aside from the registration fee, FSI will not be responsible for reimbursem*nt of any participant expenses related to the cancellation or postponement of an event.

FSI Events Code of Conduct

FSI strives to offer a positive and safe environment for all event attendees. FSI’s Code of Conduct outlines our requirements and expectations to ensure a positive experience. By registering for/attending an FSI event, you agree to follow the Code of Conduct.

CODE OF CONDUCT
All attendees, speakers, sponsors, vendors, partners and volunteers at our conferences/events are required to adhere to the following Code of Conduct. FSI will enforce this Code throughout the event.

Our aim in hosting events is to build collaboration and community. To that end, our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels welcome to participate, speak up, ask questions, and engage in conversation. We invite all those who participate in this event to help us create safe and positive experiences for everyone.

Every FSI event/conference is dedicated to providing a harassment-free environment for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, or religion (or lack thereof). We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate during any aspect of the event/conference, including educational sessions, workshops, planning meetings, co*cktail events or dinners, social media such as Twitter, or other online media.

Expected Behavior

  • Participate in an authentic and active way. In doing so, you contribute to the health and longevity of our organization and its members.
  • Exercise consideration and respect in your speech and actions.
  • Attempt collaboration before conflict.
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and/or speech.
  • Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow attendees. Conference participants violating these rules may be asked to leave the event/conference without a refund at the discretion of FSI. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

Please alert FSI staff if you notice or experience suspected violations of this Code of Conduct, even if it may seem inconsequential.

Reporting an Incident
If you see, overhear, or experience a violation of the Code of Conduct during an event, please seek out the nearest FSI team member to handle the issue. If you cannot find a team member, or would like to report a violation after an event, you may email a member of FSI’s legal team at [emailprotected] or [emailprotected].
